Back to top2) Full Home Renovations in Charlton Village
Renovating an entire property provides an opportunity to address much more than its appearance.
Older and dated homes can require substantial improvements to their electrical, plumbing and heating systems alongside changes to the internal layout and finishes.
Our full renovation projects can include:
- Complete internal strip-out
- Internal alterations and reconfiguration
- Electrical rewiring
- New plumbing and heating systems
- Gas works
- Kitchen renovations
- Bathroom renovations
- Plastering
- Carpentry and joinery
- Internal doors, skirting boards and architraves
- Flooring
- Painting and decorating
- Final finishing and preparation for occupation
By undertaking these elements as part of one coordinated project, the property can be considered as a whole rather than individual rooms and trades being dealt with separately.
Back to top3) Renovating Before Moving Into Your New Home
One of the best opportunities to carry out a major renovation is between purchasing a property and moving into it.
This allows extensive strip-out, alterations and replacement of services to take place without the homeowner having to live around a building site.
It can also allow decisions about layout, heating, electrics, kitchens, bathrooms and finishes to be considered together from the outset.
IN Construction Ltd can manage this type of pre-move renovation through the different stages of construction, with the objective of handing the property back completed and ready for its new owners.
Back to top4) Recent Full Home Renovation- Almond Close, Charlton Village
A good example of this approach is a complete home renovation we carried out on Almond Close in Charlton Village in 2024.
The new owner had purchased a dated property requiring extensive modernisation and wanted the house comprehensively renovated and remodelled.
The project involved approximately 16 weeks of construction work with a project value in the region of £110,000.
4.0.1) Complete Strip-Out and New Services
The property underwent an extensive internal strip-out before the renovation and remodelling works began.
Rather than simply updating the visible finishes, the project included a comprehensive renewal of the property's services, including:
- Full electrical rewire
- New plumbing installations
- New heating system
- New gas services
Taking this approach allowed the underlying infrastructure of the house to be modernised alongside the new interiors.
4.0.2) Creating a Larger Family Bathroom
One of the most significant changes involved the existing bathroom arrangement.
Originally, the property had a separate bathroom and WC, with an old hot-water cylinder and brick-built cylinder enclosure occupying valuable space within the bathroom.
As part of the remodelling works, we removed the dividing wall between the bathroom and WC to create one substantially larger family bathroom.
The redundant hot-water cylinder and its brick enclosure were also removed.
The boiler was relocated to the loft and a new combination boiler installed. For the requirements of this particular household, this removed the need for the existing hot-water cylinder and allowed the available bathroom space to be used far more effectively.
The result was not simply a new bathroom installed within the existing layout, but a fundamental improvement to the way the available space worked for the homeowner.
4.0.3) Complete Kitchen Renovation
The kitchen also underwent a complete renovation as part of the wider project.
Because the kitchen formed part of the overall refurbishment rather than being treated as an isolated installation, the associated electrical, plumbing, heating, plastering, carpentry, flooring and decorating works could all be coordinated within the main programme.
This allowed the kitchen to integrate properly with the rest of the newly renovated property.
4.0.4) Finishing the Property
Once the main alterations and first-fix works were complete, the property progressed through an extensive finishing programme.
This included full plastering, painting and decorating, together with a comprehensive carpentry package incorporating new internal doors, skirting boards, architraves and associated second-fix joinery.
New flooring was also installed throughout the property.
By managing these different trades and stages within one overall programme, IN Construction was able to take the property from its original dated condition through to a completely modernised home.
Back to top5) Kitchens and Bathrooms as Part of a Whole- Home Renovation
Kitchens and bathrooms are often major elements of a renovation, but the Almond Close project demonstrates why considering them as part of the whole property can produce a better result.
In this case, decisions regarding the heating system and boiler location directly influenced what could be achieved with the bathroom layout.
This is why we approach substantial renovations differently from straightforward kitchen or bathroom replacements.
Electrical systems, plumbing, heating, structural alterations, layouts and finishes all interact. Considering those elements together can reveal opportunities that may otherwise be missed.
Back to top6) House Extensions and Property Remodelling in Charlton Village
Alongside full internal renovations, IN Construction Ltd undertakes house extensions and substantial property remodelling projects throughout Surrey and the surrounding areas.
Extensions can be particularly effective when combined with alterations to the existing property, allowing homeowners to create larger kitchens, dining areas and family spaces rather than simply adding another room.
Where structural alterations are required, we can coordinate these alongside the wider renovation programme to create a cohesive finished property.
Back to top7) Managing Your Renovation from Start to Finish
A substantial home renovation can involve demolition, structural work, electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, plasterers, carpenters, kitchen installers, decorators and flooring specialists.
Coordinating these elements effectively is critical to both the programme and finished quality.
IN Construction Ltd manages the different stages of the project so homeowners have a clear point of responsibility throughout the works.
We also place significant importance on communication and transparency, particularly where existing buildings reveal unforeseen conditions once work begins.
